On Thursday, the Immigration Support Services facilitated a citizenship ceremony during which 17 individuals from nine countries received their certificates, a release from the Ministry of Home Affairs said yesterday.
The ceremony took place at the ministry’s boardroom, Brickdam.
Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn extended congratulations to the recipients during his address, emphasising the value of the cultural richness and the fresh perspectives they bring to Guyana.
Andre Ally, Permanent Secretary, stressed the importance of Guyana’s national pledge during his brief remarks, urging the new citizens to embrace unity and collaboration.
Michelle Davis, Head of Immigration Support Services, reminded the new citizens of Guyana about the critical importance of upholding the nation’s laws in all their pursuits.
