Berbice defeated Essequibo by four wickets in the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) Senior Women’s Super50 Inter-County Championship at the Meten-Meer-Zorg Ground yesterday.
Batting first, Essequibo was bundled out for 64 in 27.2 overs. Tricia Hardat snared 3-5, while Plaffiana Millington and West Indies U19 Skipper Ashmini Munisar supported with 3-11 and 2-7, respectively. Cyanna Retimiah and Latoya Williams were the only two Essequibo players to record double figures, as they ended on 12 runs each.
In response, Berbice ended on 65/6 in 12.1 overs. Munisar and Sheneta Grimmond tallied 16 runs each, while Tia Issacs ended unbeaten on 11 runs. Retimiah was the pick of the bowlers, with figures of 2-28.
Berbice will face off against Demerara in the final round of the championship tomorrow at the Malteenoes ground.
