Thirty-seven-year-old Akeem Lammy of 107 Meadowbrook Gardens appeared before Magis-trate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court yesterday, charged with attempted murder. It is alleged that on February 7, 2024 while at Irving Street, Georgetown he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Paul Smith with intent to murder him.
The prosecution objected to bail stating that the accused had been charged with a serious offence and the victim remains hospitalized. The prosecution also informed the Magis-trate that Lammy was only released from prison last year after he was sentenced to three years imprisonment before Magistrate Ann McLennan for a similar offence.
Bail was refused and Lammy was remanded to prison until March 4 2024 for a report in the matter.
