Deputy Commissioner ‘Operation’ Ravindradat Budhram; Deputy Superintendent Ronald Ali; Sports Development Officer Colin Boyce along with stakeholders visited the Police Sports Club Ground yesterday morning to inspect the cricket pitch ahead of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be hosted in the West Indies and USA during the period June 1-29th, 2024. The Guyana Police Force Ground is one of several venues selected in the Caribbean to host warm-up and practice matches.
Among those present at yesterday morning’s inspection were: Mark Burchell (Lead Teacher at Sports Turf Management, Melbourne Polytechnic), Kent Crafton (Regional Curator at Cricket West Indies), Mr Stephen Connolly (Programme Leader at Melbourne Polytechnic) and Melissa Dow-Richardson (Assistant Director of Sports, Guyana), Azad Ibrahim (Manager of the National Stadium), along with groundsmen.
