Address impact of conflict on food security, climate change

President Irfaan Ali yesterday called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to address the issue of conflict and its deleterious effects on food security and climate change.

A release yesterday from the Office of the President said that the President was at the time addressing a meeting of the UNSC which was held under the theme: “Maintenance of International Peace and Security: Climate, Food Security and Conflict”, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA.  

Guyana’s Head of State chaired the 9547th United Nations Security Council (UNSC) meeting at a time when this country is also seated as a non-permanent  member of the body.
