After suffering a heavy 273-run defeat at the hands of the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the second round of the West Indies Regional Four-Day Championship, the Guyana Harpy Eagles will make two changes ahead of their round fixture against the West Indies Academy which is slated for the Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua & Barbuda.
Leg-spinner Steven Sankar and all-rounder Richie Looknauth will make way for left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie and wicket-keeper batsman Tevin Imlach, both of whom are returning from international duties with the West Indies senior team.
While Motie is always a perennial threat, Imlach has had a lean run of form recently across all formats and the Guyana Harpy Eagles camp will be hoping for a turnaround in his batting.
Sankar barely featured in the first day of the Harpy Eagles first round match against the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force which was abandoned due to a soaked outfield and was dropped for the second round defeat. Meanwhile Looknauth had no taste of action after being named as a last minute replacement for Akshaya Persaud.
The return of Motie and Imlach will be viewed as a boost to the Harpy Eagles camp which has had an inauspicious start to their title defence thus far.
