LUCAS STOCK INDEX (LSI)
The second trading period in February 2024 has seen the Lucas Stock Index decline by 0.378 percent on the sale of 82,440 shares. Eight stocks were traded this week among which were three Tumblers and two Climbers. The Tumblers lost nearly G$3.3B in value while the Climbers registered a mere gain of G$0.25B which caused the index to lose about G$3.3B this week.
The stock price of Sterling Products Limited (SPL) rose 2.098 percent on the sale of 2,738 shares. In addition, the stock price of Republic Bank Limited (RBL) inched up 0.023 percent on the sale of 170 shares.
In contrast, the stock price of Demerara Tobacco Company (DTC) fell 3.682 percent on the sale of 196 shares while that of Demerara Bank Limited (DBL) fell 0.556 percent on the sale of 1,013 shares. The downward movement continued with Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry (BTI) whose share price declined 0.061 percent on the sale of 38 shares.
In the meanwhile, the stock prices of Banks DIH (DIH), Caribbean Container Inc. (CCI) and Demerara Distillers Limited (DDL) remained unchanged on the sale of 29,598; 200 and 48,487 shares respectively.
