Witnessed by a mammoth crowd, Back Circle won the inaugural edition of the ‘Georgetown versus the Rest’ Street-ball championship, defeating perennial contender North East La Penitence 3-2 on sudden death penalty kicks.
Staged at the Back Circle tarmac, penalty kicks were required to decide the outcome after regulation time ended scoreless.
Tasked with commencing the process, Akil Plass of North East La Penitence converted. However, Stephon Daniels was equal to the task for the hosts, as he also netted from the distance to level proceedings at 1-1.
