Jamal Anthony, a 27-year-old construction worker of Hope Estate, East Coast Demerara and of Guyhoc Park Squatting Area, Georgetown, was arrested on 2024-02-14 and charged on 2024-02-16 with the following offences:
1. Possession of ammunition without licence
2. Possession of a narcotic for the purpose of trafficking
3. Cultivating a prohibited plant
The defendant yesterday appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore where the charges were read to him. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
Bail was refused and he was remanded to prison. The matters were transferred to the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court for 2024-03-26.
