The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre (NTC) pitch has had a facelift as upgrades and installments have been completed ahead of Season Six of the Elite League which kicks off on February 25 at the Providence, East Bank Demerara facility.
The synthetic turf was worked on by Netherlands-based specialist company Greenfields and the upgrades were funded by FIFA to “guarantee ideal playing conditions for the ten Elite League clubs” according to a release from the GFF.
Additionally, the entrance to the pitch was completely refurbished while FIFA-approved floodlights were also installed. The pitch’s seams and lines were also retouched while new ball catcher nets were installed.
