Prime Minister Mark Phillips on Tuesday evening welcomed LNDCH4 Guyana – the gas to energy company – as it opened its office here.

In his remarks to the gathering,  Phillips underscored his Government’s focus “On ensuring maximum local content participation towards a sustained oil and gas sector where Guyanese play a pivotal role in contributing to the development of their country.”

A release from his office said that he highlighted the country’s abundant natural resources and strategic location, as key factors.

LNDCH4 Guyana, a joint venture between CH4 and Lindsayca, is undertaking an integrated gas processing facility at Wales in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara as part of a US$759 million contract which was awarded to the company in November 2022.

The release said that the Prime Minister commended the company for its focus on identifying local vendors and suppliers for goods and services, calling it “a commitment to building a sustainable and mutually beneficial partnership with Guyana.”

He urged additional firms to consider possibilities in Guyana and implored public and private sector partners to collaborate to promote local content participation.
