-Sinclair keeps Guyana in contest with 4-32
Another poor batting display from the defending champion, the Guyana Harpy Eagles, resulted in their dismissal for 175 on day one of their third round encounter against the West Indies Academy at the Coolidge Cricket Ground, Antigua and Barbuda.
The defending champions, who sit in the penultimate position in the standings, were rocked by Joshua James, who recorded figures of 4-43 in 13.3 overs, while the quartet of Johann Layne [2-27], Joshua Bishop [2-31], Ashmead Nedd [1-22], and Kelvin Pitman [1-46] provided vital support.
The collapse occurred. Guyana recorded an opening partnership of 43 as they lost the remaining wickets for 132 runs. Ronaldo Alimohamed top scored with an unbeaten 30, while the trio of Matthew Nandu, Kevin Sinclair, and Tevin Imlach got starts in the form of 28, 24, and 24 runs, respectively, but failed to convert against the West Indies Academy.
Guyana were able to claw their way back into the contest due to the exploits of Sinclair, who recorded figures of 4-32 to stymie the emerging Academy outfit at 96/4, 79 runs short of the vital first-inning advantage.
Rashawn Worrell remains unbeaten on 34 from 75 deliveries, with Joshua Bishops providing able support with an aggressive 33 runs from 42 balls.
Meanwhile, the Leeward Islands Hurricanes are well poised at 105/1 from 29 overs after skittling the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force 137 in 60.2 overs. Kieran Powell remains unbeaten on 54 alongside Keacy Carty on 11, while Mikyle Louis tallied 34 runs before his dismissal.
For Red Force, Jyd Goolie, Joshua DaSilva, and Terrance Hinds recorded 30, 23, and 21 runs, respectively, as Colin Archibald and Jeremiah Louis recorded figures of 3-28 and 3-38 apiece. Supporting figures of 2-5 and 2-32 were Rahkeem Cornwall and Daniel Doram, respectively.
Over at Sabina Park in Jamaica, on the home side, the Scorpions were dismissed for 269 in 78.4 overs against the Barbados Pride, with Romain Morrison missing out on a century after ending on 97. Kirk McKenzie and Carlos Brown supported with 40 runs apiece.
Jomel Warrican was the pick of bowlers with figures of 5-62, while Jair McAllister tallied 3-69. Barbados, in reply, trail by 254 runs as they sit at 15/0. Zachary McCaskie sits on an unbeaten 13.
At Chedwin Park in Jamaica, the Combined Campuses & Colleges (CCC) outfit were bundled out for 204 in 71.3 overs against the Windward Islands Volcanoes, as Darel Cyrus registered 6-72 during his spell, while Gilon Tyson supported with 3-32. The trio of Demario Richards, Damel Evelyn, and Jonathan Carter recorded scores of note in the form of 46, 43, and 31, respectively.
