La Bonne Intention (LBI) marched into the semi-final of the East Coast Cricket Board-sanctioned ‘Double V/Navin Construction 100 Balls’ Championship, defeating Golden Grove by 63 runs on Sunday at the Fairfield Ground, Mahaicony.
Batting first, LBI recorded 167.3 in their allotted overs. Aaron Beharry recorded an unbeaten 75 laced with [2x6s, 8x4s], while Ariel Tilku tallied an unbeaten 19. Emron Mohammed supported with 16 runs before being bowled by Orin Gardner, while Richard Dowlatram amassed 13 runs before being stumped off by Kellon Stephens. Contributing 13 runs was Nizam Khan.
In response, Golden Grove could only muster 104/6. Captain Lennox Andrews was the only batsman of note, as he tallied 73 [4x6s, 5x4s]. Tilku was the pick of the bowlers, with figures of 2-29 from 20 deliveries. The semi-finals will occur on Sunday.
