Guyana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Carolyn Rodrigues-Birkett has expressed this country’s disappointment at the failure of a resolution at the UN Security Council calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
The resolution was vetoed on Tuesday by the United States.
“Guyana is disappointed that this Council has once again been unable to deliver a ceasefire for the people of Gaza. A ceasefire is the difference between life and death for the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians and others trapped in the war zone that the Gaza Strip has become,” Rodrigues-Birkett told the Council.
