Kwesi Lewis, a 31-year-old gold miner of Friendship/Buxton, East Coast Demerara, was arrested on 24/02/2024 and charged on Monday with malicious damage to property.
The police say that Lewis is accused of damaging one car windshield valued at $110,000 — property of Asesima Henry, a 42-year-old contractor of Brushe Dam Friendship, East Coast Demerara, on 22/02/2024.
The accused appeared at the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court on Monday before Senior Magistrate Fabayo Azore where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison.
The matter was adjourned to 8th April 2024.
