Edward Sampson, a 37-year-old resident from Grahams Hall, East Coast Demerara was charged on Tuesday with causing death by dangerous driving.
The defendant appeared at Sparendaam Magis-trate’s Court #1 before Magistrate Rochelle Liver-pool, who read the charge and the defendant pleaded not guilty. He was placed on $400,000 bail.
The matter was adjourn-ed to 4th April 2024.
The fatal accident occurred on 21st September 2023 at about 22:30 hrs on the La Bonne Intention (LBI) Railway Embankment, ECD. It involved motor car #PMM 8295, which was driven at the time by Sampson, and pedestrian Patrick Nicholas Mamasee, of Triumph.
