Ranks from the Mango Landing Police Outpost in Region #8 conducted a raid between 4.55 am and 5:30 am yesterday at the premises of Martin Graham Mittelholzer, a 39-year-old miner/shopowner and Dianne Abrams, a 39-year-old cook at Mango Landing, Potaro.
The ranks informed the duo of their intention to conduct a search for drugs, firearms and ammunition, to which they agreed. During the search, conducted in their presence, one of the ranks found a black bulky plastic bag behind a gas stove in the kitchen. The bag contained a quantity of leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis, along with a quantity of cash (Guyana Currency).
Both suspects were arrested and escorted to the Mango Landing Police Outpost with the suspected narcotic. They were further escorted to the Mahdia Police Station, where the suspected narcotic was weighed in their presence and amounted to 185 grams.
Both suspects are in custody assisting with the investigations.
