On his Facebook page Trinidadian Foreign Minister Amery Browne has lauded the kindness of a Guyanese airport employee who helped him out when he was unable to pay for breakfast at CJIA as all he had was his credit card and no Guyanese cash.
His post on his Facebook page follows:
“There are angels all around us.
On duty travel this week, I had an early-morning flight out of the Cheddi Jagan International Airport in Guyana. I approached a security guard, chatted a little bit, and asked her for a breakfast recommendation. She personally took me across the road to a little cafeteria…I thanked her and ordered … some breakfast items for myself and some of the support staff. Lo and behold when it was time to pay the cashier (they said they) do not take credit cards or anything other than cash in the local currency.
This dear lady immediately said that she would pay for the breakfast and did exactly that despite my reluctance. To my surprise she subsequently refused to accept any form of reimbursement from me in USD. Refused!
I asked her why she was doing this for me. Her reply, `because this is how I was raised. I am a good Seventh Day Adventist, you spoke to me with kindness and respect, and I believe in blessing people’.
My friends, introducing *Ms Sonia Williams Peters*, a quiet angel in uniform. (I have since alerted Guyanese protocol of what she did and what she represents).
