Dear Editor,
The Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company is increasingly being perceived as a tacky company offering third rate services at high costs to consumers. Their lightning-fast DSL evolved into Blaze, then Connex, all of which for the end user, is the same sub-standard overpriced service.
Now they have telemarketers calling consumers telling them that they have been ‘selected for an upgrade’ in their internet service, whereby some device will be provided to improve coverage in the home. After wasting the consumer’s time in conversation for several minutes, during which the day and time for the installation is confirmed, the telemarketer then says the service costs an extra $1,000 per month.
This is tacky and disingenuous.
Don’t waste your time. The minute a GTT representative calls you, ask first if you have to pay more for something, before they deprive you of 15 minutes of your life.
Yours faithfully,
Donald Singh
