A total of 13 amateur fights have been confirmed by the Guyana Mixed Martial Arts Federation (GMMAF) for the impending Rage Fight Card, which is slated for March 23rd at the Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre, Kingston.
The fight night is being staged in collaboration with Fight Central and will also feature professional bouts. Approximately 10 nations are expected to be represented.
The other nations are: Brazil, Suriname, St. Lucia, Canada, the USA, Grenada, Venezuela, Cuba, and Trinidad and Tobago. The professional aspect of the card will be announced shortly.
GMMAF President Gavin Singh said, “We are thrilled to announce the inaugural event in Guyana showcasing the global significance of mixed martial arts. This event marks a pivotal moment in the development of the sport, with fighters from across the world participating, including representatives from the USA, Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, Brazil, Canada, and Saint Lucia. From amateur to professional levels, this event highlights the growing interest and talent in MMA. As E. Henry Ford once said, ‘Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success’. We are excited to witness the impact of this event on the sport’s growth and unity.”
Meanwhile, Michael Singh, President of Fight Central, said, “We are delighted to witness the collaboration between GMMAF and Fight Central, bringing the first amateur title match to Title As Corwin D’Anjou, the team captain for the GMMAF national team, competes on the promotion rage card, it exemplifies the dedication and skill present in our sport.
