Troy Emanuel, a 42-year-old employee of ‘Sweet Point’ went missing on March 2, after he left home for work.
Emanuel, who lives with his mother, Ingrid Francis, in the West Ruimveldt Housing Scheme, Georgetown, left for work in the morning and around 4:45 pm on March 2, his relatives became worried that he had not returned and reported the matter to the East Ruimveldt police station.
According to Francis, after reaching out to the Brickdam Police Station last Thurday, she was referred to the Alberttown CID department, for further assistance. However, up to now she hasn’t received any information from the police about her son’s disappearance.
The distraught mother told Stabroek News yesterday that on the day of her son’s disappearance, he left with a bag and a white taxi picked him up and took him to work.. She noted that her son was last seen wearing a red cap, a white T-shirt with a design on it along with a three-quarter grey pants and a pair of black Adidas slippers.
He works as a cook with Sweet Point and also supplies them with roti, dhall puri, cakes, buns, pine tarts and cheese rolls.
The Regional Commander (Ag), Assistant Commissioner Simon McBean, when contacted yesterday for a comment on the matter, confirmed that Emanuel was still missing and the matter was being investigated.
