Western Tigers blanked Monedderlust by a 5-0 score-line when the KFC Elite League continued on Tuesday at the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) National Training Centre, Providence.
It was the third consecutive win for the unbeaten West Ruimveldt outfit, who effectively sealed the victory at the conclusion of the first half following a 3-0 score.
Andrew Murray opened the scoring in the 32nd minute to open the flood gates. He then made his presence felt once he sealed his brace seven minutes later to push the score to 2-0. Trayon Bobb then got into the scoring act with a 45th+2 minute conversion.
The score ballooned to 4-0 in the 90th+2 minute as Murray completed his hat-trick. Samuel Garnett then sealed the result as he etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 90th+4 minute.
The event continues on Saturday at the same venue with a doubleheader. The winner of the tournament will receive $2,000,000, while the second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $1,200,000, $800,000, and $500,000, respectively.
