In what can only be described as thoroughly lopsided, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) mauled the Pakuri Warriors by a historic 28-0 scoreline when the second round of the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) Women’s 1st Division League resumed yesterday at the National Training Centre in Providence.
It was the largest margin of victory in the history of the event and possibly local women’s senior football. Jalade Trim led the rout with nine conversions in the 20th, 29th, 42nd, 53rd, 58th, 62nd, 63rd, 69th, and 79th, while Glendy Lewis amassed eight goals in the 12th, 17th, 43rd, 45th, 65th, 66th, 70th, and 73rd minutes.
Sandra Johnson found the back of the net five times in the 31st, 39th, 40th, 55th, and 57th minutes, while Shenessa Cornelius bagged a brace in the 19th and 48th, and Kellyann Niles recorded a double in the 52nd and 78th minutes.
Adding one goal each in the 11th and 75th minutes, respectively, were Sherlyn Kingston and Glengie Lewis.
