Safirah Sumner, Mohryan Baksh, Justin Ten-Pow, and Rafael Brathwaite recorded contrasting divisional wins when the Woodpecker Squash Championship continued last evening at the Georgetown Club facility, Camp Street. Sumner bested Kaylee Lowe 11-4, 11-6, 6-11, and 11-2 in the girl’s U-17 segment. On the other hand, Baksh made light work of Joshua Verwey, prevailing in straight sets 11-3, 11-1, and 11-2 in the boy’s U-19 division.
Meanwhile, Ten-Pow defeated his sibling, Jeremy Ten-Pow, 6-11, 11-4, 11-6, and 11-1 in the boy’s U-15 pool. He also overcame Blake Edwards 11-7, 9-11, 7-11, 11-6, and 11-3 in his second outing of the night.
