The Guyana Police Force (GPF) maintained their perfect record in the KFC Elite League, defeating Western Tigers 2-1 on Saturday evening at the National Training Centre, Providence.

It was the first loss for the West Ruimveldt outfit, as Jemar Harrigon and Neron Barrow found the back of the net for the lawmen.

Harrigon opened the scoring in the fourth minute, thumping the ball into the back of the net from outside the penalty area after racing onto a short pass from a free-kick. The score remained unchanged heading into the halftime interval.

Upon the resumption, Neron Barrow then doubled their lead in the 67th minute, dribbling his marker before uncorking a powerful left-footed strike from outside the centre of the penalty area, which settled into the lower left corner.

The Western Tigers eventually pulled one back as Trayon Bobb stabbed home in the 71st minute from inside the 18-yard area. The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches.
