Guyana and Brazil recently held a technical bilateral meeting in Boa Vista on their International Road Transport Agreement (IRTA) which the Ministry of Home Affairs says signifies an important step toward in fostering closer ties and collaboration in the transportation sector.
This agreement, which focuses on the transportation of passengers and cargo, aims to promote economic development, regional integration, and stronger bilateral relations, a release from the Ministry of Home Affairs said.
Led by Ambassador Elisabeth Harper, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Guyanese delegation included Andre Ally, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs; Rodger King, Consul General of Guyana in Boa Vista, and others from various government agencies.
“… this meeting demonstrates the government’s commitment to progressing the implementation of the road agreement and promoting mutual benefits for both countries”, the release said.
