A Fort Ordinance Housing Scheme, East Canje Berbice man will return to the High Court in Berbice this month for sentencing after a jury found him guilty of stabbing his ex-girlfriend in May 2021.
Following a trial before Justice Jo-Ann Barlow, Christie was last week found unanimously guilty by a jury for wounding with intent.
The man was accused of stabbing his ex-girlfriend, Shanaz Mohammed multiple times in her neck.
The state was represented by Attorney at Law, Muntaz Ali.
It was reported that the accused had visited the woman’s house where an argument ensued during which he grabbed onto her hair and used a knife to inflict the injuries after which he escaped.
Christie will return to court on March 27th, for sentencing.
