Terensha Pierre, a 10-year-old pupil of Hosororo Primary School, North West District, Region One, has succumbed to head injuries sustained in an accident at around 16:00 hrs on Monday.
Following the accident on Monday, the schoolgirl was medevaced to Georgetown yesterday for advanced medical attention at the Georgetown Public Hospital but succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment.
The accident occurred on the public road at Mabaruma, NWD, involving motorcar #PXX 7767 driven by a 23-year-old taxi driver from Hobo Hill, NWD, which collided.
The driver of the car remains in police custody, assisting with the investigations.
