Daniel Ince will face off against Shomari Wiltshire in the men’s final, while Ashley Khalil battles Mary Fung-A-Fat in the women’s decider tonight following their respective semi-final wins yesterday in the E-Net Senior Squash Championship.
Hosted at the Georgetown Club facility, Camp Street, Ince defeated Alex Arjoon in straight sets 11-8, 11-7, and 12-10 in their semi-final encounter.
On the other hand, Wiltshire overcame Jason-Ray Khalil 3-1. Dropping the first set 7-11, Wiltshire equalised 11-5 before taking a 2-1 lead via an 11-8 score in the third set. The come-from-behind win was then sealed following an 11-7 score in the fourth stanza.
In the women’s segment, Ashley Khalil made light work of Taylor Fernandes, winning in straight sets 11-5, 11-8, and 11-7. She will now meet Fung-A-Fat for the local title, who defeated Ashely De Groot in straight sets 11-3, 11-5, and 11-6. Meanwhile, in the women’s veteran’s segment, Lydia Fraser brushed aside Tian Edwards 11-8, 11-3, and 11-6.
