George Aubrey Archer, 72, of Suddie Public Road, Essequibo Coast was on Tuesday found guilty of the offences of possession of a firearm and ammunition without a licence and was jailed for eight months.
According to the police, the offences occurred on Thursday, 28th of September 2023, at Onderneeming Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast. On Tuesday 19th of March 2024, the case was heard at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Esther Sam. The defendant was absent but his counsel Miss De Santos was present. The police said that the defendant was found guilty on both charges and he was sentenced to eight months imprisonment with a fine of $50.000 on each charge.
The sentences will run concurrently.
