Dear Editor,
I see the vice president wants to see the names of persons and organizations that complained to the UNHRC. Maybe he can add my name to the list. We, in the diaspora, are the true guardians of democracy. The list of (offenders?) is long, but I am proud to be affiliated with David Hinds, Rickford Burke and other social media influencers who speak truth to power. The Westmaas family has fought against dictatorship since we became a Republic, and I am happy to follow in their footsteps.
David and Rory Westmaas are gone, but the remaining members will lift our voices as loudly as we did under the Burnham dictatorship. This descent into personality politics, the hurling of demeaning and derogatory remarks against members of the opposition and those of us who dare to question the ever-bombastic vice president, and the general combative attitude of a small cabal in the PPP, leaves much to be desired. Better will come!
