Chase Academy, Yarrowkabra, and West Ruimveldt recorded lopsided wins when the Milo Secondary School Football Championship commenced yesterday.
Staged at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue, Chase Academy dismantled North Ruimveldt 6-0. Omar Sam crafted a hat-trick in the fifth, seventh, and 19th minutes, while Bryan Wharton, Isaiah Ifill, and Kelvin Dewar scored in the 14th, 59th, and 60th minutes apiece.
Meanwhile, at the Queen’s College grounds, Yarrowkabra downed New Central 5-3. Christian Medina bagged a double in the sixth and 41st minutes, while Leroy Evans tallied a brace in the 15th and 50th minutes. Adding to the score in the 37th minute was Edward Harry.
For the loser, Trevor Gordon tallied a double in the 30th and 47th minutes, while Jomaine Favourite netted in the 57th minute.
Continuing at the same venue, West Ruimveldt dismissed Queen’s College 4-1. Elijah Sattaur recorded a hat-trick in the 14th, 52nd, and 69th minutes, while an own goal added to the score in the 47th minute. On target for the loser in the 40th minute was Owen Hooper.
The event continues today at both locations with another round of matches.
