Defending champions of the Milo U-18 Schools Football Championship, Santa Rosa Secondary, got off to a flawless start with a 3-0 dismantling of East Ruimveldt Secondary, while Santa Rosa’s Region #1 counterparts, Waramuri Primary Top, inflicted a 5-1 thrashing of the Bishop’s High School.
Santa Rosa took on East Ruimveldt at the Ministry of Education Ground yesterday and dominated proceedings; however, the game went goalless for the first half as the reigning champions took time to find their stride.
Almost immediately after the halftime break, Keshawn Campbell would break the deadlock with the opening goal in the 48th minute. Darius Williams would make it 2-0 11 minutes later, while an own goal from the East Ruimveldt outfit would hand Santa Rosa a comfortable 3-0 win in the end.
