Two-time defending champion Gold is Money, as well as heavyweights North East La Penitence, Back Circle, and North Ruimveldt, registered wins on Saturday evening in the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Georgetown Championship at the National Park tarmac, Thomas Lands.
Gold is Money sealed their place in the quarterfinal segment following a 4-1 thrashing of Tucville. Meanwhile, North Ruimveldt overcame the Rising Stars by a 1-0 score to remain unbeaten, while the undefeated North East La Penitence secured their first win with a 1-0 result over Make It Happen.
Back Circle, who suffered an unexpected loss in their opening fixture, made light work of Middle Road to remain in contention for a place in the quarterfinal section.
In other results, Laing Avenue heaped further misery on the Stabroek Ballers following a 1-0 victory, while the Albouystown Warriors dismissed Sophia B 2-0. Also, Unstoppable and Albouystown contested a 0-0 result, while Lodge All-Stars and Bent Street played to a scoreless affair.
