In a clash of heavyweights, Back Circle dismantled Albouystown 3-0 to seal their place in the final eight, in the process eliminating the latter from the competition.
On the other hand, the upstart outfit, Lodge All-Stars, defeated the gritty Sophia B unit 1-0. Meanwhile, Unstoppable maintained their undefeated record with a 3-2 victory over Middle Road.
In other results, two-time defending champion Gold is Money downed Stabroek Ballers 1-0, while Laing Avenue made light work of Tucville via a 5-1 scoreline. The Rising Stars defeated Make It Happen 1-0. Also, North East La Penitence and North Ruimveldt battled to a scoreless outcome, while Young Gunners and Albouystown Warriors played to an identical result.
The quarterfinal segment will kick off at the same venue on Saturday. In the opening fixture, North Ruimveldt will take aim at Unstoppable at 19:30hrs, while at 20:15hrs, Lodge All-Stars will face off against Laing Avenue.
The third encounter at 21:00hrs will pit Gold is Money against Albouystown Warriors, while Back Circle will lock horns with North East La Penitence in a virtual final at 21:45hrs. The resulting winners will progress to the semi-final segment, while the losers will battle in the plate championship.
