The Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars 50-Over competition bowls off today as the next generation of West Indian cricketers take centre-stage in Antigua and Barbuda. The Guyanese U-15 side led by Adrian Hetmyer will head into battle against Barbados in their opening game at the Liberta Ground.
While Hetmyer is a prolific middle-order batsman, he will have another prodigious batsman, Emmanuel Lewis as his deputy along with the likes of Khush Seegobin and all-rounder Rovaldo Perreira.
After today’s encounter, the Guyanese side will take on Trinidad and Tobago on Thursday (March 28) at the Coolidge Cricket Ground.
Rounds three and four will both be played at the Bethesda ground, on March 30 and April 1 respectively with Guyana coming up against Jamaica and the Windward Islands.
Following those matches, Guyana will head back to Liberta to face the Leeward Islands. All matches will bowl off at 9:30 am.
