Health Minister Dr Frank Anthony yesterday commissioned a Simulation Clinical Skills Lab at the Charles Roza Nursing School, located in the compound of the Linden Hospital Complex.
This lab will aid in better preparing healthcare providers to handle any challenges they may face when providing care, a release from the Ministry of Health said.
Anthony stated that with the health sector having over 400 health facilities, and a desire to have 117 different types of interventions within these facilities, there will be a need for additional trained personnel. As such, the Ministry has established a hybrid nursing programme for two of its courses, and upon completion of the theoretical aspect, the simulation centre will be needed for practicals.
