Castrol Strikers defeated the Eagles when the Demerara Volleyball Association’s (DVA) Senior Men’s League continued yesterday at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Castrol Strikers secured the vital three points without breaking a sweat as they won via walkover after the Eagles failed to arrive at the playing venue at the stipulated time.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday at the same venue, the Classic Ball Blasters (CBB) downed the Vanguards 3-0. CBB seized control of the contest as they won the opening set by a commanding 25-9 score.
Although Vanguard improved significantly in the second stanza, CBB increased their advantage to 2-0 as they prevailed by a 25-19 score-line. The contest was then sealed in the third set as CBB won 25-18.
