After rain washed out their round one encounter against Barbados on Tuesday, the Guyana U-15 team got their campaign off to a rollicking start with a 9-wicket win over Trinidad and Tobago (T&T) in round two yesterday at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.
Fast-bowler Arif Khan’s 5-fer engineered the resounding win, while left-arm spinner Gilbert Griffith snared three wickets to provide ample support.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Khan ripped through Trinidad’s top order, while Griffith, along with Brandon Henry and Danvir Seegobin, accounted for the lower order. The Trinidadians laboured to 83 all out in 24.2 overs, with Vice-Captain Zakariyya Mohammed leading their effort with 24.
