Windsor Forest thumped Belle Vue by 151 runs at the West Meten-Meer-Zorg ground in their semi-final fixture to seal their berth to the final in the Jits and Neelam 40-Over Cricket Championship.
Batting first, Windsor Forest amassed 286/9. Sachem Balgobin recorded 124 (10x4s, 2x6s), which is his third century in the tournament. Chipping in with 47, 42, and 33 runs, respectively, were Kishaun Tracy, Kellon Tracy, and Kenzo Baksh.
Lucian Sam was the pick of the bowlers, with figures of 5-33 in eight overs, while Ryan Seecharran tallied 2-30 and Randy Ramroop snared 2-43.
In reply, Belle Vue was dismissed for 135 in 32.3 overs. Lalta Suknanan recorded 6-24 in eight overs to engineer the victory. Sam Top scored in the loss with 48 runs, while Kevin Plant added 42.
Meanwhile, hosts Zeelugt defeated the McGill Superstars by five wickets to seal their berth in the quarterfinal segment.
Batting first, the visitors recorded 220/6 in a reduced 35-over affair. Travis Persaud top-scored with 56, while Shameer Fazal was the next best scorer with 55 runs. Adding 26 and 20 runs, respectively, were Sudesh Persaud and Ronald Renee.
Mahendra Persaud was the pick of the bowlers with 2-36, while Tameshwar Dass and Omar Shakoor snared for 2-38, respectively.
In response, Zeelugt ended on 221/5 in 27.1 overs. Nateram Dass led the chase with 73 runs, while Dass supported it with 53 runs. Adding 27 and 26 runs apiece were Khandiya Ramkarran and Rajendra Ramjattan. Badesee Persaud was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 3-54, while Abdul Razack snared 2-40.
Zeelugt will oppose Cornelia Ida in the semifinal segment.
