Five acres of rice field at Hampton Court, Essequibo Coast have been converted into a recreational space at a cost of $30 million compliments of a city business-man with ties to the area.

Joe Jagmohan of International Imports and Supplies located at Lot 15 Garnett Street, Campbellville has dedicated the Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam) facility to the memory of his late mother, Chano Jagmohan.

Speaking at the recent inauguration of the community ground, Jagmohan fondly recalled his childhood in Hampton Court, where he enjoyed playing cricket and other sports. He said he had noticed a lack of recreational facilities for youths since the sale of land by the Sankar family.
