Defending champion Santa Rosa suffered an unexpected 1-2 loss to Anns Grove when the Milo Secondary Schools U-18 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
The upset loss was engineered by Deshawn De John and Kennard Halley, who were on target for the East Coast Demerara outfit in the 15th and 16th minutes, respectively. For the loser, Darius Williams netted in the 18th minute.
Meanwhile, former champion Chase Academy mauled Abram Zuil 4-0. The foursome of Manasseh Anderson, Omar Sam, Justin Alcindor, and Darius Chester scored in the fourth, ninth, 15th, and 29th minutes, respectively.
Similarly, West Ruimveldt crushed New Central 7-1. Donovan Welcome recorded a hat-trick in the 28th, 35th, and 62nd minutes, while Jerimiah Griffith added a brace in the 65th and 70th minutes. Supporting a conversion in the 69th minute was Isaiah Peters. Adding to the score in the 55th minute was an own goal. For the loser, Peter Khan netted in the 34th minute.
