Defending champion, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) continued their undefeated run in the KFC Elite League, thrashing former two time champion Fruta Conquerors 8-0 yesterday at the National Training Centre, Providence.
The contest was over at the halftime interval, as the army unit recorded a commanding 5-0 lead. Olvis Mitchell engineered the lopsided contest via a first half hat-trick in the 22nd, 30th, and 45th+1 minute.
He was supported by conversions from Delroy Fraser and Chris Macey in the 31st and 43rd minute respectively. Meanwhile, Ian Dooker, Stephen McDonald, and Kelsey Benjamin got into the scoring act in the 64th, 72nd, and 89th minute respectively.
