Dr Mohamed Hakim, Andre Gonsalves and Aleema Nasir from the Rights of the Child Commission held a training programme last week at the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) Boardroom in Mahdia, Region #8, with ranks of the Guyana Police Force, members of the Community Policing Group, members of the public and students.
A release from the police yesterday said that several topics were discussed during the interactive session. These included: efforts being made by the Juvenile Justice System, Ministry of Human Services, and Ministry of Education to look at alternatives to eradicate the use of Corporal Punishment and how to eliminate drugs from the school systems.
