Slingerz FC maintained their undefeated record in the KFC Elite League, overcoming a one-goal deficit to crush the Western Tigers 4-1 yesterday at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Centre, Providence.
Falling behind to an Andrew Murray conversion in the 25th minute, the Vergenoegen-based outfit secured the come-from-behind win with four unanswered goals. Darren Niles recorded the equaliser in the 42nd minute to level proceedings just before the halftime interval.
Upon the resumption of play, Sheldon Holder secured the advantage for Slingerz with a 52nd-minute conversion. Holder then doubled his side’s lead as he made his presence felt four minutes later.
The result was then sealed in the 85th minute, as former Western Tigers player Curtez Kellman found the back of the net. The event continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches.
