Buxton United’s winless streak in the KFC Elite League continued last evening as they went down 0-4 to Fruta Conquerors at the National Training Centre, Providence.
It was the fifth consecutive loss for the East Coast Demerara unit, as four goals in the first half secured the victory for the Tucville-based outfit. The four conversions occurred in the space of 10 minutes.
Makhaya Jervis opened the scoring in the 30th minute. The lead was then doubled as Dwayne Jones etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 33rd minute. Antwon Denny then made his presence felt as he found the back of the net in the 37th minute. The result was then sealed in the 40th minute, as Jervis completed his double. The tournament continues tomorrow at the same venue with another round of matches.
