Essequibo Archers have been the latest entity to secure affiliation with Archery Guyana, according to an official release from the local governing body.
The correspondence stated that the entity’s executive committee comprises President Wazeeda Bacchus, Vice President Parmeshwar Persaud, Secretary Trishel Hernandez-Williams, Treasurer Usham Changa, Assistant Secretary/Treasurer Risha Chester, Public Relations Officer Azizi Christiani, Membership Secretary Renelle Williams, Organising Secretary (Events) Rosanna Williams, Assistant Organising Secretary Adelia Jonas, Equipment Manager Noval Hastings, and Head- Coach Ramnarine Ragoobar.
“President of Archery Guyana, Ms. Vidushi Persaud-McKinnon, expressed her elation at this recent affiliation, emphasising the shared commitment to fostering the growth and development of archery across Guyana. The affiliation comes hot on the heels of successful training initiatives in Essequibo, demonstrating the region’s burgeoning passion for the sport. Mrs. Persaud-McKinnon went on to commend the rapid growth of archery in Essequibo, fueled by the recent successful training of archery instructors in collaboration with the National Sports Commission”, the release stated.
According to the correspondence, the affiliation of the club is a significant milestone in the development of the discipline in the region. The release further stated that the national federation is aiming to now introduce the sport in the county of Berbice.
