Police Sergeant Alex Robert Vaughn, who was killed by a bullet from a colleague’s gun during the police’s hunt on March 12th, for prison escapee, convicted rapist and suspected murderer Akeem Wong, was yesterday laid to rest at the Helena Number 2 Cemetery, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara. The sergeant was last stationed in Regional Police Division #7 as the Subordinate Officer-in-Charge of the Sherima Police Outpost. Deputy Commissioner ‘Operations’ Ravindradat Budhram, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum, and Commander Region #7 Superintendent Dion Moore were among current and retired officers and ranks who attended the funeral service at the Living Fountain Ministries Church, East Coast Demerara.
