Slingerz maintained their perfect record in the KFC Elite League, blanking Anns Grove 5-0 on Thursday evening at the National Training Centre in Providence.
A second-half blitz secured the result for the Vergenoegen outfit following a scoreless first-half period. Marcus Tudor commenced the rout with a 51st-minute strike, slotting home from inside the penalty area after latching onto a flat cross from the right side.
Tudor quickly made his presence felt once more in the 55th minute, stealing the ball from the defender before lashing his effort into the back of the net from inside the penalty area.
Jerome Harrigon got into the scoring in the 83rd minute to make it 3-0, blasting his effort past the goalkeeper from inside the six-yard area.
Jamal Codrington then etched his name on the scorer’s sheet in the 89th minute to further extend their advantage, lobbing a 30-yard effort from 30 yards out in the centre of the field over the head of the goalkeeper and into the back of the net.
The result was sealed in the 90th+2 minute via a Gabriel De Souza conversion, who uncorked a left-footed free-kick from outside the right of the penalty area into the back of the net.
The event continues on Saturday at the same venue with another round of fixtures.
