Chase Academy, West Ruimveldt, Dolphin win in Milo Schools Football

Chase Academy, West Ruimveldt, and Dolphin Secondary recorded comfortable wins when the Milo Secondary School U-18 Football Championship continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education (MOE) ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Chase Academy thrashed Bush Lot 11-0. Bryan Wharton recorded a hat-trick in the 28th, 29th, and 32nd minutes, while Bevon Jones bagged a double in the eighth and 24th minutes, and Omar Sam tallied a brace in the 31st and 38th minutes.

Adding goals in the 12th, 44th, 60th, and 65th minutes, respectively, were Tyrell Walcott, Shaquan David, Duquan Samuels, and Isaiah Hill.

Similarly, West Ruimveldt crushed Yarrowkabra 5-0. Jeremiah Griffith tallied a double in the ninth and 63rd minutes, while Donovan Welcome, Elijah Sattaur, and Jamal Fraser scored in the seventh, 21st, and 59th minutes apiece.

Likewise, Dolphin dismissed Carmel 3-0. Gerry Burnett and Jamal Williams recorded conversions in the 50th and 65th minutes, while an own goal opened the scoring in the 10th minute. Over at the Queen’s College grounds, Thomas Lands and Bartica downed Marian Academy 3-1, while Leonora defeated New Amsterdam and East Ruimveldt bested Anns Grove via respective 2-1 scores.

Meanwhile, the event continues today at the MOE facility. The Bishops’ High will oppose Hope Secondary at 13:00hrs, while defending champion Santa Rosa faces off against Charlestown at 14:30hrs, and President’s College battles Waramuri at 16:00hrs.

Over at the Queen’s College venue, Abram Zuil tackles North Ruimveldt at 13:00hrs, with L’Aventure opposing South Ruimveldt at 14:30hrs, and New Central locking horns with Queen’s College at 16:00hrs.
